GraphQL is a data query language. Magento uses GraphQL as an alternative of REST and SOAP web APIs.
GraphQL performs read operations with the help of queries, change the data with the help of mutations. A mutation can create, update, or delete objects and fields. In REST terminology, queries operate like GET requests, while mutations are similar to POST, PUT, and DELETE.
Testing :
You can check your GraphQL query response by installing chrome extension ChromeiQL.
For checking your query first you have to set endpoint.
<magento root url>/graphql
